Burnfeed is made by Priyam Ventures Private Limited. In short: Burnfeed does not collect your data, track you, or show ads.

What stays on your Mac

Burnfeed runs entirely inside Safari on your Mac. Your settings, your quotes and the pages you visit are never sent to us or anyone else. To hide feeds, Burnfeed needs access to the sites it works on (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, LinkedIn and Reddit); it uses that access only to change how those pages look on your screen.

Rule updates

Sites change their layouts, so Burnfeed checks burnfeed.app a few times a day for updated hiding rules. This is an ordinary file download with no identifiers, settings or browsing data attached. Like any request on the web, it reaches our host (Cloudflare) with your IP address and browser version, which are kept only in standard server logs and are not used to identify or track you.

Reports and email

If Burnfeed notices it can't find a site's feed, it can prepare an email report for you. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it from your own email app; it contains the site, the page path, which parts of the page weren't found and how often, the rules version, your Burnfeed version, your browser's user agent (browser and macOS version), and anything you add. If you email us for support, we keep the email only to reply and never use it for marketing.

Buying Burnfeed

App Store purchases are handled entirely by Apple; we receive no personal information about you from them.

If you buy Burnfeed on burnfeed.app, Dodo Payments is the merchant of record: they take the payment and handle your name, email, billing details and tax, under their privacy policy. We see the order and the email you bought with, so we can help with your license. Burnfeed then talks to Dodo Payments only to activate, re-check (about once a week) and deactivate your license key; it sends the key and your Mac's computer name, so you can tell your Macs apart, and nothing else.

The version from burnfeed.app also checks burnfeed.app for app updates (about every six hours from Safari, and daily while the app is open). Downloads are served by GitHub. Like the rule updates above, these requests carry no identifiers beyond what any web request does.

We don't sell or share any information. We would disclose an email you sent us only if you asked us to or the law required it.
