Burnfeed

Guides

Hide the Reddit home feed on Mac

Reddit's front page is built to keep you scrolling. Burnfeed burns the home feed, r/popular and r/all in Safari, and can also clear the sidebars, so you only read the communities you go to on purpose.

How to do it

  1. 1. Buy it on burnfeed.app ($4.99 once) or from the Mac App Store, and open the app once.
  2. 2. Choose Safari › Settings › Extensions, turn on Burnfeed, and allow it on the site.
  3. 3. Open the site and click the Burnfeed button in Safari's toolbar. Switch the feed, or single parts of the page, on or off.

What Burnfeed hides on Reddit

Search, single posts and their comments, messages, your profile and posting stay. Old Reddit works too. Need the feed for a moment? Show it for 5, 15 or 60 minutes and it burns again on its own.

Without an extension

Reddit's settings can mute communities and turn off some recommendations, but the home feed stays.
